The maker of the gold standard recording Plug Ins has recently announced their newest venture, which happens to be in to the Live Sound world.
Waves’ MultiRack system is new innovative way to use all of your favorite Waves Plug Ins Live… Just add an I/O Box.
Lets Take a look at the MultiRack System.
The Waves MultiRack system is simply a software host. It will work with any open standard interface (i.e. a core audio interface, which is almost all interfaces) for your I/O and take what you put in, put some Waves Plugins in the signal path, and then route the audio out.
This means you can take any compatible waves plugin (see below for a pdf of compatible plugins) and put it in your signal path. It could be via an Insert from your console, or Aux Out. You name it!
- Up to 64 “Racks” (Effect Chains)
- Up to 8 Plug-Ins Per Rack
- Compatible with Most Native V7 Waves Plugins
- Save a Rack Setup or SNAPSHOTS for full recall!
- Latency Alignment
- iLok Required
Example Uses: Vocal Chains (Comp, EQ, De-Ess) In/Out of an Insert. FX Chains (Delay, Reverb, Comp on FX, EQ on FX) In from AUX Send, Out to Channels. L/R Management (Comp, EQ, Limiter, Ect Ect) on L/R Insert or I/O.
Now… There’s not too many other details out there, but it seems like a Win to me!
The Waves MultiRack Software lists for $600 with NO plugins. You have to add your own Waves Plugins, activated (along with the product) on an iLok key. As well as the audio interface.
