Measuring SPL over time has many uses, and has never been as easy as with SPL Meter by Studio Six Digitial.
There quite a few uses for SPL Over Time, including but not limited to Acoustical Measurements (avg background noise over a period of time), meeting dB limits (some european festivals use SPL/Time instead of Instantaneous SPL) as well as measuring work place noise to meet OSHA standards.

SPL Meter can measure up to 24 Hours of data (if recording audio, it’s dependent on free space on the iPhone) with single second resolution. You can then scroll through the data to find high points in SPL and their times, as well as Zoom in and Out on the Graph.
For acoustical professionals, or those just wondering what damage they’re really causing to their ears in an environment this is an excellent tool to see what your background noise (or foreground) SPL is.
